Behind the Bookstagram: @TeachAllDayWriteAllNight

The Instagrammer behind the @TeachAllDayWriteAllNight account is a teacher, wife of 15 years and mother to 2 daughters. Read on to learn more about Meg and her content!

How long have been on Bookstagram?

I started March 2020. When COVID hit and I had to teach from home and help my daughters with virtual school I started having issues with anxiety. I began reading more often to help keep my mind distracted. I also started writing – mainly short stories for my students. I wanted a way to stay connected with readers and writers and stumbled upon the bookstagram corner of Instagram. I have learned a lot since joining.

What book are you currently reading?

I am almost finished with Watching You by Lisa Jewell. I read one of her other books this summer and instantly became a fan.

What’s your go-to genre?

I alternate between romantic comedies and thrillers most of the time.

Do you have an auto-buy author?

Yes a few – Emily Giffin, Jennifer Weiner, Colleen Hoover, Tarryn Fisher, Meg Cabot, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Christina Lauren, Emma St. Clair. Some of these authors I have read for years and others I have discovered since joining bookstagram.

When authors approach you to review their books, what information would you like them to include?

I am usually open to reading anything presented to me. Since exploring writing myself, I appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes in to any and all pieces of writing.

Can you give us some insight on your life behind the scenes of your book content and how you come up with ideas for your posts?

I love decorating my house so I usually include some pieces from my home in photos.

What type of content can followers expect to find from your account?

I think I present more of a “book appreciation” rather than a “review” approach. I don’t want to ever sway anyone away from reading something. A book that I deem “not a favorite” may be way more profound to someone else.

Do you have other hobbies outside of Instagram and reading? Or how else do you spend your free time?

I love to exercise, write, watch movies, drink coffee, and spend time with my family. I also love reading to the children that I teach and hope that my love of books is transparent and memorable to them.
